The Chancel Choir
The most visible group of First Baptist's Music Ministry, the Chancel Choir is made-up of talented singers from the church's congregation. The Chancel Choir leads First Baptist's worship service each week.
Any member of First Baptist Church ninth grade and up is welcome to participate in this wonderful ministry. Each potential choir member should posses a love of music, the ability to sing, and the willingness to stick to your commitment to the ministry. Auditions are not required, but the director may test your voice to determine what voice-type you are (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, or Bass). The ability to read music is a definite plus, but is not required. Private lessons to develop your voice and/or learn to read music are offered (with the Director of Music or one of our Choral Scholars) at no cost to choir members.
Rehearsals are held each Wednesday night from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Choir Rehearsal Room.
The Music Ministry at First Baptist Church has a mission to pray for the Lord to send us singers to realize a goal of 48 singers (6 voices per part, SSAATTBB). The Music Ministry asks EVERYONE to pray for this goal, because with your support and prayers, it CAN happen!

Conerstone
Cornerstone is FBC's NEW Praise Team. Although a small group, Cornerstone hopes to grow into a full ensemble of talented singers, accompanied by an instrumental ensemble. The group makes regular contributions to the Worship services at First Baptist Church. If you, or someone you know, are looking for a musical opportunity to serve the Lord, here is your chance! Contact the Director of the Music Ministry to get involved.
Cornerstone currently rehearses Sundays at 7:00 PM in the Choir Rehearsal Room.

The Joy Singers
The Joy Singers is FBC's Senior Adult choir. The group meets at 2:00 PM on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month during the Musical Arts Season (August - June) in the Choir Rehearsal Room. The choir is directed by Nancy Britt and accompanied by Charlotte Jones. Any retired member of First Baptist Church is invited to participate in this ministry. No audition is required, nor do have to be a music-reader. Just be willing to praise the Lord through music-making and enjoy!
The Summer Singers
The Summer Singers is a small volunteer choir that is organized each summer to assume the responsibilites of the Chancel Choir during the month of July. The Summer Singers meets at 10:20 AM on Sunday mornings to prepare a simple anthem to present during the Worship service. Any one is invited, and encouraged, to participate in this ministry. It is a great way to "get a glimpse" of singing in the Chancel Choir for those who are entertaining the idea of singing in the larger ensemble.
