The Resound Choir at First Baptist Church is composed of volunteer ringers from the church's congregation. The ensemble rings a 5-octave set of Schulmerich handbells that have been donated by various donors throughout many years of ministry. The choir also owns a second set of Schulmerich handbells (3-octaves) that are used for smaller ensembles.
The First Baptist Church Resound Choir also uses a 4-octave set of Malmark handchimes, often used in combination with the bells.
The choir rehearses each Sunday afternoon at 4:00 PM in the Handbell Rehearsal Room. The group performs prepared pieces on the 3rd Sunday of each month during the ringing season. Participation is offered to any member of the church who is in 9th grade and up. The ability to read music is prefered, but is not required. Learning to ring in the handbell choir is quite simple and can be a lot of fun!
